Last night was ZA. The four animal bosses? No problem. We have them pretty well nailed down. Malacrass? …ow. Last night was our best attempt at him, and we only got him down to I think 31% before everything fell apart. It’s a very very very fine balance of gear, classes, and specs, and we’re having a bit of a struggle with it. Of course, it didn’t help that at one point, I was feared then knocked out of the room, only to find myself… elsewhere. According to the map, I was in Malacrass’s room, with everyone running around me. According to what I saw on the screen, I was standing in a nice green field that looked like it was part of ZA, might even be Malacrass’s area if you took his building away. I couldn’t see anyone, no one could target me, but boy did those shadow bolts find me. I took pics that I’ll post later tonight.

So last night was very “ow” and we’re not real sure what we can do differently. People were going to be doing more research and seeing what they could find out. Right now, all I know is that my head hurts from thinking and I hate Malacrass.

A New Guest Post from Aerye, this time in honor of Big Bear Butt’s Man Vs. Wild post. :)

So, back when I was a junior hunter… I mean Girl Scout, we had overnights in real Girl Scout Camps. Not sure what they do now, but our closest camp was not the ‘pretty princess hideaway’. We walked 3+ miles up gravel topped roads UP to one of various camp clearings that consisted of a lean-to with a huge trough-like sink, a large rock ringed campfire with a metal setup for cooking, a latrine that was… erm… rustic, complete with a shower set up that was really no more than a curtained area with three shower heads over wooden planks. You slept on these wooden platforms that had three steps up, and canvas walls, no doors save a canvas flap you could tie and you slept on the floor in yer bedrolls that YOU hauled up. For all of us who lived in even the semi city that was Queens NY, it was WONDERFUL! No lights save your flashlight, real honest SKY.. cold ass wind that froze every single part of you that it touched and made the concept of a shower unthinkable… even after 2 days in the wilderness.

Forget what we got on the first, 17% on the second attempt. And 3rd attempt? Void Reaver down. Go us. :) And because I promised Aer but missed getting them up cos of all the insanity earlier in the week, here’s a few shots of us stepping foot into TK for the first time last Saturday night.

About to charge in About to charge in and take on the first group of Blood Elves.

Al’arSuch a pretty bird. Hate his trash so much.

KillshotAnd the kill shot. Yey team!

Yey for Real Life crap. :;sigh::

Yesterday was a bit of a weird thing. Bad news, then dealing with bad news, then napping from exhaustion from dealing with bad news, led to me being semi out of it when raid rolled around. Not badly out of it, jsut slightly off-kilter. We have a bunch of new people in the guild and they’re still learning the way we do things. After sitting around a while getting set up, we were off and running. The goal? 3 SSC bosses in 2 hours. Hydross was first, and I noticed that one of our two resist tanks (the other being The Boyfriend) wasn’t talking. Turns out, Tank 2 was sick and only there to do the Hydross fight. After that, he promptly logged. The Boyfriend also was not feeling well (nothing like having the raid leader comment “Damn, dude, you sound rough!”) and most of his instructions were coming via raid chat instead of Vent. Lead Hunter was also not well, I was having back pain, one of the other raid leaders was not 100%, and people were getting irritable all over. Not one of our better nights for real life raid health.

But after the nice Hydross kill, we were down one person from Tank 2 logging. No one else was around, so we shrugged and said “Let’s keep going and see how far we get.” End result? We 24-manned Lurker and Tidewalker, and one-shot them both. Think everyone was just so ready for everything to be over so they could go deal with whatever was causing them issues, everything was getting annihilated.

The plan for tonight is to see if we can one-shot Leo and go take a poke at Karathress. Tomorrow night is ZA, and Friday we go convince Void Reaver to lay down arms and surrender peacefully… or we kick his ass. Either’s good. Nevermind, it’s TK tonight and back to SSC on Friday.

Edit: Leafshine is taking a stand on PvE Tree nerfs. Personally, I’m sick and tired of having the PvE game “broken” because of Arena/PvP. I know WoW was made to be a PvP or PvE game. I get that. It’s lovely. I choose to not PvP in any form cos I’m a huge carebear. But i didn’t join WoW cos it had an uber dueling system in place where I could have a team that could go up against other players. I joined WoW cos of the lore, quests, and ability to go into instances and see big bad ugly things die after they try to eat me and 4/9/19/24/39 of my closest friends. Balance for arena is not the same as balance for endgame. (My opinion, deal.). Please quit trying to “balance” all the classes to compete in Arena and forgetting that we have some @%$#@$ bosses in instances to kill and not everyone in the world wants to PvP. /snark off

Not catastrophic, but seriously upsetting news today. I’ll be back tomorrow. Have a good one.

This always seems to happen when I’m talking to other Blog Azeroth people. Leafshine happened to wonder how on earth the Tuskarr from the next expansion would even kiss. Photoshop happened… sorta.

Tuskarr kissing? Not!

It’s Leafy’s fault.

Since last night was “offnight”, and I was in need of sleep (”Green Hunter needs sleep badly!”), I didn’t bother logging in last night. Instead, I went to bed early, just this shy of babbling incoherently (as opposed to the usual just babbling). The sleep was wonderful. I’m not back to fully rested, but certainly working on it.

Tonight, we take our first steps into Tempest Keep. Target? Void Reaver. I am so looking forward to not being underground and dealing with naga.

What is raid hangover? Well, for me, it’s sitting at work the morning after a raid, about to fall asleep, not mentally “here”, the attention span of a mayfly and a slight headache. While the getting to this point may have been fun, I certainly feel as though I’m paying for it now. :;sigh::

Last night was the ZA run. Normally this is the Learning Team running it, except that part of the Learning Team had to bail/didn’t show/resigned from the team. We ended up being quite a few people short, and convinced/bribed some guildies who hadn’t been in ZA before to come with. Thankfully everything went pretty well and even tho we got started late, we managed to get through all 4 animal bosses. Sadly, we had a bit of bad luck with the Eagle boss and weren’t able to take him down within the timer. We did get the Bear boss down in the timer, though, and got tank shoulders out of the chest (quit swearing, Boyfriend, you’ll get them next time).

Tonight is offnight and the offnight raid is an appetizer of ZG fish boss, with an entree of Kara. I’ll be there for the ZG part if I’m not accidentally passed out on the couch, but no Kara for me tonight. Instead, I’ll pick up with Kara on Sunday night. Mmm badges.
