Okay, not a REAL truck, but that’s about what it felt like. -.-
This past week, I took off of WoW. I had a good reason: the store that I’m going to be managing as soon as it’s finished, stocked, properly licensed, and has one more employee other than the one I hired last week. Right now, it’s in yet another critical phase, with upteen boxes of merchandise all sitting in a (conveniently empty) store next to mine. All of those have to be opened, checked, priced and put out onto the floor. The floor that still needs some guys in here to move some stuff around, since I can’t move huge fricken metal shelving units. Strong? I have my moments, but they’re more nice spurts of “POWER WOMAN!”, not sustained “excuse me, I need to move this house I’m carrying and you’re standing in the way” kinda moments. And when I say umpteen boxes, I’m not kidding. Friday, a semi showed up. Thankfully, it wasn’t all for us. Just the 5 pallets, 42″x42″ square and 6 to 7 feet tall each, stacked high with art supplies and held together with wonderful heavy duty cling wrap. Guess what didn’t fit through a standard size door? You guessed it! So Mom (down visiting and helping get everything set up), The Boyfriend and I frantically unloaded the pallets to get the sidewalk they were on free and clear again.
Oh yeah, the store isn’t in a mall. It’s in the middle of the downtown area on a street, in one of the renovated buildings. Lovely place. Parking’s not great. But damn, the deli 3 stores down is amazing!
So this past week was getting computer systems set up, stock unloaded from trucks, training from the company that sold us the systems, interviewing another prospective employee, having Employee #1 fill out her forms and get started on setting up the teacher supplies section (holy crap teachers have a lot of stuff to buy these days), and close on my house back in Georgia. Yep, house finally got sold. Thank god.
After ALL of that, I’d have to be insane to play WoW, right? Apparently, I’m insane, cos Saturday I walked into ZA after the longest damned time away with a group of guildies. It didn’t start well. We wiped on the last group before the bear boss twice before we got it down and tackled him. We lost out on the timer chests, but we did clear out all of the animal bosses, which was as good a job as we’d ever done when we were serious about it. Then someone said “Hey it’s kinda early, anyone up for a speed Kara run?”
Not only am I insane, I’m a dumbass, too. I heard myself saying “Sure! Count me in on Siana!” Next thing I know, we’re in Kara and cruising along. 3.5 hours later, I left with my badges, tossed them into the bank, then saw I had 100 badges. Wait, wasn’t there something I wanted? Oh hells yes! So Siana is now the proud wearer of Leggings of the Pursuit, gemmed and patched (even if it’s not the patch I wanted, at least it’s something).
The next day, I was in bed most of the day with a headache. That’ll learn me. ::sigh::

Okay so the title’s cheesy. Give me a break, it’s early in the morning and I went to bed way too damned late.
Yesterday I was humming and smiling for most of the day. The Diablo 3 announcement made me squee to little fangirl pieces, the info released on it (finally! Pick a class AND sex! TY!), and while the two classes that have been released are lovely, dammit I want my ranged bow shooter. That’s what I played in Diablo 1 and 2, and I want her back, dang it!
I didn’t want to pull up Diablo 2 and play with it (tempted! So tempted!), so I hopped into WoW and started mucking about with my priest. She’s pretty low level at this point, and I spent some time in Darkshire clearing out old quests for her, ones that were grey and green. I have NO idea why I did that tho, since I really want to get her a kitty mount instead of the elephant. So I should have been wandering around in elflands instead. But at least I got a ton of quests killed off, lots of xp, a few upgrades, and dinged 2 levels. ::happy purr::
We tried to get a Heroic Ramparts run going, since I’m -this- close to being exalted on Siana, but alas, it was not to be. That’s okay, cos I needed to eat supper, then log into my mage for Kara fun. And oh my god was it ever fun. Several people that have been off in ::gasp:: another MMO ::gah!:: wandered back last night for a Kara run. A couple of friends of ours in another guild came as well. And Aerye got to go for her second full Kara clear and once again get phat lewts. And me? I was still humming and bouncing.
See, a couple of days ago, I managed to finish the last of the Frozen Shadowweave set. So there I was, all decked out, gemmed, and happy to be going pewpew with friends. My mage is finally getting to the point that I don’t think of her as being -too- much of a gimp. Granted, the green-level pants have GOT to go, but she’s still tons better now! So in we run, slaughter tons of mobs, tell even more bad/naughty jokes (had to stop the raid a couple of times cos the Hunter Class Lead and I were being baaaaaad in tells to each other), and manage to down mobs that eat mana and are immune to magic damage with two pally tanks, only a Hunter that was non-magic damage. And to my delight, the Curator smiled on me last night. My mage walked off with the Staff of Infinite Mysteries. The Boyfriend was there on his boomkin enchanter and had me immediately hand it over to him to enchant Major Spellpower onto it. Yey better pewpew! ::pets new shiny staff::
Somewhere after all of the staff stroking jokes (oh yeah we were baaaaaad last night) and before we killed Prince, Grasp of the Dead dropped. Yeah, it’s not great, but it’s still better than the gloves I’d worn before that. After that, we got Prince down, and Aerye walked off with his axe and the Tier 4 helm piece. She was asking if I wanted it, since she already got the axe, then was informed by the Hunter Class Lead and myself that we would both drive cross country out to California to beat the crap out of her if she didn’t take the helm NOW. A quiet “yes ma’ams” later and Aerye got the token. ::grin:: I was the only other person that could have used the token last night, and since I have Uni-Mind Headdress on my mage at the moment, I’m okay.
So Aerye got loot, my mage got loot, a friend of ours that hadn’t been to Kara before (was his first raid after being gone from WoW for over a year) got lots of loot, others got loot they’d been waiting to have drop for a while and I lost count of the number of times I fell over laughing (or lost the ability to breathe). All in all, I consider it an excellent run, even if it wasn’t the fastest run ever. ::grin::
After I logged, I finally did fire up Diablo 2 and ran around in there. Once I got to the point I was falling over at the keyboard, I shut it off and went to bed. Now I’m up and watching the Diablo 3 Denizens live feed from WWI. ::sigh:: Man I hope they have a bow-wielder. /drool

I’ve been back from training since Friday night. This weekend, I happily dropped myself into WoW and got my fix of killing mobs. A friend needed assistance on getting some group quests done, I had a mage that had some of those quests, and by the time it was all done, 5 of us had all piled together to rampage across Netherstorm. There was giggling and chaos involved. Oh yeah, good times.
Saturday night was Kara, which I was REALLY looking forward to. I’d asked to take my mage, since she could actually still use some gear from there. But the big bouncing for me was Aerye going on the run. I was massively looking forward to her seeing everything. She’d been on one run previously but only part way. This time, it was to be a full clear.
So that’s how a mage ended up in the hunter private channel with Aerye and the other hunter on the run. I think it was his 3rd time there. I gave tons of advice to them, and they did great. Well except for when the mobs looked at them and said “mm yum ::nomnomnom::”. Heehee. Aerye got phat lewt and badges, my mage got badges and a sparkly offhand, so everything was dandy.
Yesterday, I took time off to play with the PS3 and the cats’ brains, what little brains they have. Today? Errands, with hopefully a side of killing things in WoW. God I hope so. Yeah, can you tell I’m not quite as depressed anymore?

it was a nice quiet weekend for me. Friday night, I did nothing. Storms came through and while a few booms of thunder did make me wonder if I should power down, it was the flickering of the lights that made me log off. About 15 minutes after I’d powered down and was in bed reading, the power went out. Early night!
Saturday was fits and starts. I got power back finally, then it was off to do a few dailies before saying hell with it and mucking about on the mage for a while. Eventually a Kara run was organized and we went trooping off to go pwn undead things. Happily, they let me take my mage. Granted, Sia could use the badges, but my poor mage is not as nicely geared as she could be. I blame myself for being horribly busy (and a little lazy) in not getting her geared up. But now that I don’t have the “GAH Must grind money GAH!” thing going on Sia, I can concentrate a bit more on the mage. I did manage to pick up the Uni-Mind Headdess, as well as get the exalted Violet Eye Archmage rep ring. A little bit better in the gear, even tho I need to work on her more.
Sunday evening was time for the About Last Night group run. Due to scheduling conflicts, two members couldn’t make it, so the other three of us made Taurens and had fun decimating the wildlife. Little things like all of us dinging at the same time (and me falling over giggling each time) and me smacking every plainstrider from the bristleboars to the beginning Tauren camp, while the other two finished them off as they followed me, meant an highly entertaining evening for me and a great way to end the weekend.
Tonight, I get to take a long hard look at the mage and figure out what to do with her. I have a feeling a respec is coming, along with a bunch of heroics. ::sigh::

Wow that was some serious downtime. Friday night’s Kara raid with Aerye on her first raid went well. We had a bit of a rough patch at first with Moroes, but he eventually died. All in all, her fears of wiping the raid often were mostly put to rest, since she only did it once, and that was with help from The Boyfriend. ::grin:: She got a lot of new gear out of the 4 bosses we did do, so that was all good.
I didn’t play much Saturday, having a afternoon out with a friend to do lunch and a movie instead. But Saturday night was the followup to do the second half of Kara. It went okay… right before my connection died. I did my usual shifting of routers and cables with no luck before getting the wise idea to check the TV. No TV service. After waiting around for 20 minutes or so, I gave up and went to bed.
Sunday was still a no go for online events, with no cable. They finally got it back up late Sunday night, too late for me to get online and do anything. Monday evening tho I managed to get online and get a little bit accomplished for my pally, finally getting the last bits of Sunken Temple quests done, thanks to Aerye escorting me and pulling the whole damned graveyard in Western Plaguelands, much to the annoyance (don’t care! pbbbbt! you jerks kept taking my kills! I’m looking at you, lvl 67 Rogue!) of the others there. She giggled gleefully and had much fun slaughtering things. I was just happy to get things off my lists. All that’s left now is the actual ST run. Hopefully this weekend that can get done.
Yesterday I logged in briefly and did more daily quests on Siana. I finally hit revered with the Netherwing, got a decent amount of greens, a crapton of leather, and of course nice gold for my troubles. Problem is, I seemed to have missed the announcement that we were raiding SSC last night, so I never logged back in after my afternoon dailies romp. :;headdesk:: Times like this, I feel like a total twit. Eh, it was the holidays, and I was thinking we were still off raids. That’ll teach me.
Tonight is Tidewalker in SSC, and yes, I WILL be going. Tomorrow night I’ll hopefully be wandering around in ZA, and if not, I’ll crank out a few dailies before attempting to get some sleep. Friday is more SSC, then Saturday and Sunday we go old school: Molten Core and Blackwing Lair. It’s been so long since I’ve been to either, and I’d barely raided there before work ate my lift for a while, that I’m going to have to go back and read up on the fights. it’s sure to be amusing, no matter what.

The holidays are halfway done for me. Christmas and Yule are done, and the New Year celebrations will start soon. In celebration of having a 5-ish day weekend, I celebrated by raiding for 3 nights. Sorta.
Friday night was supposed to be raiding in SSC, but with the holidays, that got scrapped. Instead, a bunch of people did heroics. I ended up having The Boyfriend and others get together and run Arcatrazso I could get a red Santa hat to complete my Santa suit. Saturday was the day I was looking forward to, as that was the day a bunch of us were getting a friend keyed for Kara, which we’d be running later that night. We went running with a tank that is still getting geared, my hunter, the Hunter Class Lead’s priest, The Boyfriend’s boomkin, and the friend on her Hunter. Loot was gained that -wasn’t- sharded, keys were gotten, and all had fun. Unfortunately, the poor friend ended up getting horribly ill and missed her first Kara.
I ended up on Kara on my mage except for Moroes… where I pulled in Siana for trap duty as usual. ::sigh:: It’s a good thing that I don’t really need anything off of him on my mage. Instead, I managed to luck out and snag the Ruby Slippers for the mage out of the Opera Event, didn’t die, was able to give decent dps (still working on the “great dps”), and felt pretty good by the time I went to bed.
Sunday was the second half of Kara, where I managed to get more loot for my mage, complete a quest, and get more rep. Yey me! Then it hit me: Kara will be empty on Monday… Mwhahaha, let the plot begin…
So when Monday rolled around, Friend found an email in her inbox asking “Yo! Poke me in IMs!” I kept checking the computer as I worked on cookies downstairs (mmm cookies), and finally saw her poke. That when I laid out my idea: there’s a whole Kara instance that’s cleared. There’s no mobs. Would she like a tour of Kara and to also get a couple of quests done? 15 minutes later, we were zoning in and she was drooling. She got pulled all around the place in the order that we normally run it, including the ducking back outside after the opera event to use the back door, skipping mobs while I played tour guide over Ventrilo. She got quests picked up and turned in, and is now ready to go in and kill things, giggling insanely all the way. Not too bad of a Christmas present in-game and a “sorry you missed it! But get excited, cos here’s what you’ll see next time!” gift.
Other than those events, I was out of game for the most part. I did hop in-game for a bit on Christmas Day to wish everyone well and talk with The Boyfriend for a bit. But overall, it was a quiet time in Azeroth for me. Tonight, I get back to things in-game, with a bunch of us doing a Arcatraz Key run since the Friday night run found five people, all standing outside Arc, all laughing cos none had the key. Cue musical toons soon after…

Okay so Friday night’s SSC run wasn’t -that- bad. I just came out of it in a very “meh” mood. I blame that on the mixup in my head of what I was doing which night, along with a general lack of sleep. Apparently I made up for that by sleeping most of Saturday, which just left me groggy and out of it for my mage’s run through Kara.
I’d -wanted- to get one more piece of the Frozen Shadowweave set made before Kara. I did manage to ding tailoring enough to be able to make it, but I’m lacking materials. Part of me feels bad for not logging in and farming mats, but real life has been occupying my time as of late. I also discovered that I suck in kiting as a mage. Either that, or I was even more out of it than I thought. -.-
Yesterday was an off day for me. Why? I was needing the time off (still so damned sleepy) and I needed to cook. Tonight is even more cooking and most likely not gaming. Again. Sheesh. Never going to get anything done at this rate. Damn you, Life!

Tonight it’s Kara night, but on my mage. Since I pretty much got all the gear I really wanted out of Kara for my hunter, I’ve been trying to get my poor mage geared up. She’s a frost mage right now, and with only one piece of the Frozen Shadowweave set on her, she needs all the gear help she can get. I still have to get her 5 more points in tailoring before she can make the second piece, not to mention needing to farm the materials and make the shadowcloth. I’m not sure that I can get those points tonight, but we’ll see.
Before I go bouncing around in Kara with her tonight though, I want to spend more time leveling my paladin. she’s getting close to the point of needing/wanting to do instances like Maradon, Uld, and Sunken Temple. I meant to do more with her last night, but the Boyfriend needed a run on his baby shammy through Deadmines and I was drained from the day.
Saturday, the guild runs back to SSC for it’s first attempt at Morogrim Tidewalker. We got a glimpse of him, but weren’t able to engage. Well, our main pally tank raced in to get smacked by him, but most of us were hearthed by that point. Poor poor pally: turned into a recyclable by a giant.
